Job Details:

Meadville Medical Center is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) job to work full-time, days & evenings in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We are offering a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus OR Loan Forgiveness program (must have at least 1 year of experience in an ICU setting)

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates total nursing care for patients using Emergency Nurses Association standards and the nursing process; participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership working cooperatively with other health care providers.

Registered Nurse (RN) Education and Experience Requirements:

· Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice and a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited school of nursing

· Current BLS Healthcare Provider card

· Must have completed Critical Care Course or completion within 3 months of assignment to Intensive Care Unit

· Must have current ACLS and PALS certification or obtain within 6 months of assignment in ED

· CCRN and PALS are recommended but not required

· 6 months previous Med/Surg or ICU experience

· Current Pennsylvania Nursing License or having made application for licensure

Registered Nurse (RN) Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

· Good communication and analytical skills

· Ability to prioritize, plan and perform professional nursing care, resolve patient care problems and interact with patients, families and other team members during stressful situations

· Ability to make frequent rounds, lift patients, positions patients and to transport patients to provide treatment and to maintain patient comfort

o Lifting, reaching, walking, carrying, pushing and pulling – the ability to see and hear with or without mechanical aides

· Must independently be able to respond to an emergency

· The Critical Care Nurse will be required to respond to an ABC within the medical center, following ACLS protocol

· Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and temperature changes

· May be exposed to potential hazards such as chemical wastes, body wastes, fluids and other possible infectious material
