Senior Customer Marketing Strategist

As a Senior Customer Marketing Strategist, you will be part of an energetic, passionate, and creative marketing organization within Progressive. This role is part of the team within Progressive responsible for identifying human insights that can drive marketing programs that will get noticed and deliver results. You will work on developing and championing strategies designed to optimize the marketing funnel and build the overall Progressive brand. You will work closely with outside agencies, internal marketing partners including Market Research and Creative Management, and business leaders throughout Progressive to build strategies that lay the foundation for effective brand communications. This position will focus in on current Progressive customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing customer mindset and message maps to support experience design

  • Creating marketing strategy briefs that drive strategic creative development and providing strategic creative feedback

  • Providing consultation and guidance to business units to develop consumer marketing strategies and optimal product and service positioning to meet business needs

  • Collaborating with Market Research and business units to guide development of market research stimuli

  • Interpreting and applying business results and market research insights into marketing strategies

  • Working with marketing and media partners to lead design of integrated marketing plans

  • Mentoring other marketing specialists within Marketing

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years related work experience in a marketing role - need at least 3 years experience managing direct marketing or 1:1 targeted campaigns

  • In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 12 years related work experience in a marketing role

  • Proven ability to translate business goals, market research findings, consumer insights, and campaign results into actionable marketing strategies

  • Demonstrates credibility by building strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; able to present ideas/perspectives in visual and convincing way

  • Understands brand marketing, acquisition and/or retention marketing and has experience developing successful campaign strategies that have been deployed in market. Specific digital marketing experience necessary

  • Baseline understanding of market research methodologies and segmentation approaches

  • Ability to be adaptable and manage ambiguity
