Job Description

* Applicants for this position could be located anywhere in the continental US and must be able and willing to relocate to their newly designated sales region after successful completion of the training program *

The Sales Associate Trainee will undergo a comprehensive and rigorous 15 week training program in Fairlawn, OH to get fully educated in the products that we manufacture and distribute. Upon successful completion of the program, the Trainee will be assigned to a designated territory within the continental US to manage and oversee, as a Territory Sales Representative.

In their new role as Territory Sales Representative, the individual will be responsible for the management of their designated territory within the Industrial Products group. The territory management role requires the necessary effort to obtain ongoing increased market share through application and sales of industrial rubber products. This position will promote and sell engineered products, programs & services to customers; Train distributors and end users on new products and product applications; and develop and implement a plan to regularly meet with customers to service existing accounts and / or grow new business.

Additionally, the role will require 50-60% travel with overnight stays.

Job Requirements

Must be in Senior year of a Bachelor’s degree or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration or Industrial Distribution.

Ability to develop business partnerships with existing and new customers (Distributors, OEM’s & End Users).

Use business and information technology tools to manage territory activities

This position requires strong self – management skills along with a high degree of energy, initiative and integrity as you are expected to be a customer advocate and represent Continental ContiTech to our customers.

Must possess strong negotiation skills.

Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to travel 50% ­ 60% within their assigned region, to visit customers and/or distributors.

Ability and willingness to relocate to a region or territory within the US, after successful completion of the training program.

Applicants must be lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.

Experience in industrial sales or related field preferred.

Knowledge of the application of engineered rubber products and rubber compounding is desired.
