The Central Intake Assistant registers, schedules, and/or admits, plus related processing, all patient/clients being service by HM Home Care coordinating with physician offices, emergency department, other healthcare facilities, and other ancillary areas. The Central Intake Assistant also provides insurance verification, cashier, financial counseling, and related clerical support duties in Central Intake coordinating with both internal and external customers in providing optimal, efficient services.
Qualifications - Minimum
Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent).
Knowledge and training in medical terminology, typing, computer skills preferred.
Minimum two (2) years previous work experience in the areas of scheduling, registration, typing, computer skills, patient billing, and/or medical insurance processing required. Should have at least one year of patient contact involving the resolution of patient/client issues.
Should have fundamental knowledge of the business function of HM Home Care: assigning, admissions, registration, insurance verification, authorizations, and how these functions relate to one another.
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate, function effectively, and establish professional and cooperative relationships with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Hours per pay period: 80
Hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm
