Community Care Ambulance - CCA- is an innovative and recognized provider of emergency and non-emergency medical transportation services in northeast Ohio. Main offices located along Lake Erie and the Pennsylvania border in Ashtabula County, CCA is stationed in Oakwood Village, Concord, Middlefield, Munson, Chardon, Andover, Akron and Portage County.
The Advanced EMT is primarily responsible for providing basic and advanced life support to patients and/or assisting the paramedic in the delivery of advanced life support.
The Advanced EMT is ultimately responsible for the entire crew, when partnered with the Basic EMTs. They shall identify and provide customer service and effective communications.
Must be 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED
Graduate of an Advanced EMT course that meets or exceeds the National Standards Curriculum
Must possess a valid Ohio EMT certification
Current CPR card
Ashtabula County protocol and
Ohio Driver’s License with a clean driving record;
Meet Community Care’s insurability requirements.
Must be able to read and write English at the 12th grade level and handwriting must be legible.
Requires bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, lifting, and other repetitive movements associated with the transport of patients. Must be able to lift onto a stretcher and then carry, with the assistance of a partner, a person weighing not less that 225 pounds. Eyesight must be in compliance with the standards set forth by the O.D.O. T. for day and night driving, and may be corrected with the aid of prescription eyewear. Hearing of low and high frequencies is required and may be corrected with the use of hearing aids.
TOOLS USED: All emergency medical supplies and equipment within the scope of practice:
Oxygen tanks and regulators, stretchers, splints, backboards, ET tubes, suction, monitor/defibrillator pulse oximeter, IVs and associated supplies.
Must be able to assist a person with higher certification in performing their duties to the patient (i.e. setting up an IV, placing the patient on the cardiac monitor, etc.)
