Description: Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a Supervisor Heart and Vascular Diagnostic Sonography. Under the direct supervision of the Director, Heart & Vascular Non-Invasive Services and Medical Director Cardiac Testing, the Supervisor Heart and Vascular Diagnostic Sonography is responsible for the supervision of cardiac and vascular sonographers and their compliance to technical standards as outlined in Cardiac Testing protocol for all transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, pharmacologic stress echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms to ensure quality patient care. The Supervisor Heart and Vascular Diagnostic Sonography is responsible for monitoring the daily technical operations of the Echo Lab. Supervisor Heart and Vascular Diagnostic Sonography is accountable to support department initiatives and collaborate with the management team and medical team to ensure optimal outcomes for the department of Cardiac Testing.

Qualificiations: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS. Must meet one or more of the following: Three to five years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer. Or, Successful completion of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology program which includes verified didactic and supervised clinical experience in echocardiography. The program should be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP). Completes a minimum of 30 continuing education hours in the field of cardiac sonography every three years through self-study materials such as approved CD journal internet based and videotape materials as well as departmental local regional and national conferences and courses or compliant with ARDMS continuing active status requirements or the Intersocietal commission for the accreditation of Echocardiology Laboratories (ICAEL) requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
